Cindy's Story
It just seems like yesterday that we were sitting in the Colliseum on graduation night all sparkling with the adventures just waiting for us to explore. Now I sit back and think about the last 30 years and wonder just where in the world did it all go.
After SSan, I chose not to attend University & went straight into the workforce - which worked out for me. I spent a little while looking for that 'special man'. I found him, as the saying goes, when I had stopped looking and we ended up marrying when I was in my early 30's. We never did have children, but I've got 2 step-sons and that, in my opinion, is definitely better than having kids - I didn't have to go thru that whole child-birth thing and let's not forget the terrible 2's.
I work for the US Government which has allowed me to live in several different geographic locations. Started small (Houston), then got really adventurous (Mexico City for 6 years), moved on to Washington DC (7 years) and now am in the exciting metropolis of El Paso, Texas. It's been fun so far so I expect to keep doing what I'm doing & continue to explore the various 'travel op...Expand for more
tions' that Uncle Sam offers.
I haven't really kept in touch with anyone from school which is a shame and I send my heart-felt apologies to all my friends 'back then' and send out a generic 'how ya been' to everyone. There's been times that I do wonder what Terry Pate has been up to, or how Cecilia Torres is doing, maybe look up Cecilia Mata's profile, visit with Hector Ramirez' family or send a quick note to Joseph Ramirez or John Robertson or John Stone.....maybe even Mr. Covarubias. Either way, it just seems that there's not enough time in the day to do everything that I want to do and it seems that as I get older, the days are getting shorter & my 'I want to do' list is getting longer.
Jeez - I'm sounding rather maudlin which I will stop now. I'm at a good spot in my life - things are going my way and I just can't wait to see what's next in line for me.
A great big 'Hi' and 'thank you for stopping by' to everyone that is reading this and hope that you realize that life is short and nobody should let time 'slip-by' without telling their loved ones how much they mean to them. Thanks for stopping by!
