Went from Hightstown High School to Mercer County Community College to major in Telecommunications because I'd been selected from 60+ students to anchor the first high school cable news program in the U.S. Turned down softball scholarships (pitcher and shortstop) to do so. Then wound up going to The Florida State University to major in Communications (media performance--then ranked no. 11 in the country) and political science, with a minor in philosophy. I was really attracted to the warm weather as with limited body fat I was terribly cold in the NJ winters! Been here since 1985 and love it. Went to the FSU law school in 1995 where I served as the editor-in-chief in '97-'98.
