Cindy Gayle Northcut's Story
Life
I STARTED TO SCHOOL IN THE DUNCANVILLE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT WHERE I WENT FROM 1ST GRADE TO THE 5TH GRADE. MY FAMILY MOVED TO EAST TEXAS WHERE I ATTENDED RAINS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT UNTIL MY GRADUATION YEAR OF 1977. I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM ANYONE THAT I WENT TO SCHOOL WITH REGARDLESS OF WHERE I WAS ATTENDING SCHOOL. WELL A FEW THINGS HAVE CHANGED IN MY LIFE, SOME FOR THE BETTER AND SOME I AM NOT SO SURE OF YET. OKAY, I CAN CONFIRM THAT MY LIFE IS SO MUCH BETTER. I AM HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY AND MY HEALTH IS IMPROVING DAILY. I RECENTLY GOT MARRIED AGAIN AND WHAT A WONDERFUL THING THIS IS! I ONLY WISH I COULD SHARE MY HAPPINESS WITH EVERYONE IN THE WORLD!!!
College
Since we were not allowed to graduate early, I attended East Texas State University at Commerce on Saturdays and took my basics. I was very bored with the entire school process at this time and was totally burned out on school as a whole. Therefore, I made a really stupid decision at the ripe old age of 17 and decided that I didn't want or need to go to school any longer. I have regreted that decision many times. Education is the key to almost everything in life. I do believe in the school of hard knocks and I did learn a great deal from that, but I wish things had been differently. Who knows what I may have been able to accomplish in my lif...Expand for more

Workplace
Shortly after graduation I moved to Dallas & began my work life in the insurance industry. After 14 years of this, with much success, I decided to go into the healthcare field and remained there until just recently when I was able to obtain a great job with the Transportation Security Administration/The Department of Homeland Security. I had always wanted a job working at an airport because of all the people you can see and meet. Now I am doing just that and getting paid very well to do it. It is very interesting and I feel that I am doing my part in the efforts made against terrorism in our country. I am a great American and treasure our freedoms that so many fought and have died for. Well a few things have changed and unfortunately I have had to take a medical disability and retire. I am enjoying my life and trying to live it to the fullest everday.
I love my life, my husband and my history so far. Yes, there are things I wish that I could change but for the most part I am satified with everything. All of my ups and downs, highs and lows, triamphs and tragedies have brought me to this point in my life. I have lived a good life for the most part and am so looking forward to the next chapters and what it may or may not bring to me. I thank each of you who have played a part in my wonderful, blessed life!
