Cindy's Story
My husband, Steve and I have been married 30 years. We met at Elder Beerman Siebenthaler in Dayton. We have a 23 year old daughter named Lindsey.
We lived in Palm Beach Gardens, FL for 10 year before moving to CLT, NC. We have been here in NC for 17 worst years. I love to shop and travel. I worked for USAIR in Charlotte and loved the job but lost it. Staying home now and not working.
Our daughter was a year round competitive swimmer from age 5 until she graduated from high school in 2003. She's a gifted talented artist.
Steve runs marathons about twice a year, and runs 7 days a week. He works at Wachovia bank headqtr. in Charlotte as a technical support computer worker. He's a supervisor. I had worked as a medical secretary for over 25 years.
Steve and I bought a 2nd home in Dayton 5 years ago to enjoy going up to see family, friends, and eat at favorite restaurants and enjoy being in home area where we were born and raised. We go up about 2 to 3 weeks a month to stay. Steve is a computer engineering mananger at Wells Fargo in CLT so he can work from our 2nd home while up there. It's so great we have a 2nd home! When up there I hate to come back to horrible hillbilly NC. Too slow and too hillbilly for me. And government sucks here and so does the entire area. Also awful sinus trouble here daily year round. Can never breath right. And sinus pressure and headaches daily....Expand for more
My doctor told me this was the worst place we could have moved here. Air sticks in place due to mountains and oceans and can't ever change. In Ohio, I know it's "Sinus Valley" but can breath 100% ok up there. So going up there is such a relief to me!
Since our last reunion, I have kept in touch with several classmates. I was very happy to organize our 30th reunion this past July 2007.
Steve and I have owned a 2nd home here in Dayton (Washington Twp.) since last year. We visit here alot to visit long time friends who feel like family and Steve's sister who lives in Chillicothe.
School
Back in high school, I was horribly shy and backward. People in my class made fun of me and jocks said horrible things to me in hallways and made fun of me and embarassed me. Well I have the last laugh. I look younger than I am, and now I am no longer shy but I am sure of myself. No one at the last reunion knew who I was and were shocked when they realized who I was. I sure wish I was the way back then about what I am now, but it's been a life lesson. I have fighting spirit and have no regrets about my past (no partying, no smoking, no drinking, no drugs, etc.)I now like the way I look and my personality. If people would have just gotten to know me back then, they would have probably liked me and realized that I wasn't a strange person and I would have had better memories about high school.
