Cindy's Story
Most people won't even remember me from H.S. I was the kid trying to fly under the raidar. Didn't always work. (Remember that girl that got all the pencil shavings dumped on her head? Yeah, that was me!)
Wow... Let's see. Since 1984 life has never been dull. Started college at MATC but didn't finish. Got married to my prom sweetie, Jim Samuelson, in 1984. Worked a few jobs, moved to CA and worked w/ a law firm in La Habra. Moved to SC had 3 kids (1 girl, 2 boys)and became stay-at-home mom. Moved to NC. Moved back to WI. Moved to AZ, NC, back to AZ. Helped support hubby while he was finishing his BA and stated working on MA. Working on getting my degree now but w/ budget cuts in the state we're heading back to WI but up to Green Bay area to finish degree and hubby to finish Law School. Major - Environmental Policy and Management. Yeah, I'm a greenie. :)
Other than all the moving, life is good. Have changed my mind about a lot of things and tried to make a difference in my family's life. Our kids have learned some big life lessons and are great people because of. Hopefully now we can settle d...Expand for more
own instead of this gypsy existance we have maintained over the years.
What's my biggest surprise? Going back to school - omg that was a huge surprise. Especially at 40. But I'm really happy in the direction I'm going in. It'll be good to be back in the midwest - I've missed seasons for the past 7 yrs in AZ. I know... I'll be the one with all the layers on when everyone is saying it's spring. lol.
To be truly happy - I am happy. Crazy as that may sound I am really happy with my life. I'm learning, I'm growing, I'm hopefully helping to make this a better place to live, I'm helping to raise 3 great people who are creative, intelligent, strong-minded and funny... what more could I ask for? Ok... maybe chocolate! :)
How do I hope old friends remember me? Ummmm.... I hope they remember that I was a friend to a lot of different people and didn't judge them for appearance, style, money or whatever. I hope that they remember me beyond the "dear abby" title that someone once gave me.
I like to think that I have followed Robert Frost's poem and have "taken the road less traveled".
Later days folks....
