Clarence's Story
Life
I grew up in Vallejo. Attended Vallejo Senior High School and Solano Community College.
I worked a summer job on Mare Island Naval Shipyard.
In 1967 I participated in the Summer Of Love in San Francisco. In 1968 I found myself in the U.S. Army.
After attending jump school in Fort Benning Georgia I served one year in Vietnam where I did a variety of jobs truck driver, water point operator, infantryman. It was there that I decided to go to art school.
Upon my discharge from the Army I attended classes at the Academy of Art College...Expand for more
for 5 years. During that time and after I entered my work in over 30 art shows.
Along the way I developed an interest in acting and attended acting classes at City College and the A.C.T. studio in San Francisco.
I wanted a physical skill to use in acting so I studied kenpo karate and have earned a First Degree Black Belt. Two years ago I began studying tai chi.
I founded an art group, The ArtSalon of San Francisco and we have been having shows here and there in San Francisco.
I hope to continue to progress in my three art forms.
