Claudia's Story
Life
I am 37 now...wow! Seems like only yesterday I was in junior high school and now I am going to orientation for my son to attend. I have one little boy named Logan who is almost 12 years old. He's very bright and the light of my life. His dad is Mark Davis and although we are divorced remain good friends. I work at The University of Toledo, Health Science Campus (former MCO) as an education coordinator and work with medical students in the Department of Surgery. Very fortunate to love my job.
School
Annie Sharp and I were discussing the one thing we wished we would have done differently in high school was to pay more attention to the guys in our class, because they were a great group of guys and we were so wrapped up in the older guys we didn't give the time to the guys in our class, which makes us believe we truly missed out. Loved Mrs. Peterson who taught all the home economics courses...she had the best most eccentric personality...down to earth and real...learned a lot of life's lessons from her that applied to reality. I had a blast in high school and miss every minute of it, however if I had the chance to do it all over again I would have utilized the opportunity of a free education a little more...Expand for more
than spending it as a social gathering. One of my best memories was when my best friend Annie Sharp came to school with two different color shoes on (one blue and one black) because she couldn't decide which shoe looked better (we were so vain) and she totally forgot about it and was running late and accidentally came to school with two different shoes on...she begged me to take her home and I said NO WAY!!! That was too funny!
College
I went to the University of Toledo for two years and received an Associate's Degree in Applied Science. I loved it. It felt good to go to school, because I wanted to and to learn something I enjoyed. I wish I would have went longer, but love what I do now. I pretty much lived there, because I worked in the Admissions Office while I attended there. Was on the Dean's list and graduated with a 3.89 average...very proud! However, if I was smarter I would have continued my education.
Workplace
I worked at MCO for 9 years and left to go into private practice for 4 years and now am back to continue on with my State benefits and retirement....landed an awesome job and am very proud to work with medical students knowing I contributed to a small part of their educational experience.
