Claudia's Story

Life takes many turns and twists. I can say I have seen much of America, Florida Keyes, Niagara Falls, Washington DC, parts of Canada and been in many states. I lived in Las Vegas Nevada for over 9 years and found it to be very hospitable, fun and was always something to do or somewhere to take a walk. We helped to build a church, and made great friends. I am now living back in Selma. I am not sure why I came back. I am raising 3 of my grandchildren. My namesake (Claudia) is 18 and is in the National Guard at bootcamp in SC. She makes me so very proud. Stephanie is a freshman and she is a handful. Danny is my Autistic one and will be 17 next month. God blessed me with patience and I never thought I would have. They choose to live with Grami. I guess that is a compliment. I missed my Golden years and I suppose this why God made grandparents. I find Californians, rude and obnoxious compared to Nevadans. I often wonder why I came back. I do not have much family left here. Most reside in Selma cemetery. They say life is full circle and I suppose I am on the curve. Which side I am on I am not sure. LOL I am single again. I gave love a chance several times now and it just does not work for me. I suppose I am pretty damaged on relationships but managed 3 marriages, widowed, remarried for 15 years and the last for 19 years. They say that makes me a lifer (?) whatever that means. All my children have children and a...Expand for more
re doing well. My pilot son missed the Trade Tower by two weeks, was transferred to Dallas. I know I was blessed as many others that day Americans stood still in shock! I vowed to never forget it! God Bless America and may she reign on in Glory! Most of us are looking at retirement, I am looking forward to work. I AM WORKING. Wooowwooo! I am an independent contractor doing insurance field inspections, and now doing HUD (repos) in central and southern CAL. I get all over the Valley and get to see places that I have not seen in forever...I love the mountains here and always well. They are beautiful with snow on them. I spend much of my time mentoring others, helping others emotionally and to guide them in there is a God and hopefully help them through the crisis of the economy and getting old gracefully. My movement is for faith and may you always have faith for without it you have nothing to look forward to. How do I want you all to remember me? I suppose when I was younger, a little stupid at times but without making mistakes you can never learn truth. I have lived my life learning and growing from my mistakes. I have climbed many mountains and achieved many goals. If I had it to do all over again I would have been an engineer. I would have married and had kids later in life. But all in all I do not have any regrets. We are all on borrowed time now and I choose to live to the fullest. Have a great life!
