Claudia's Story
Left Ventura County in 1974 and graduated from CSCU Chico in 1977. Same year I fell in love with an old friend from Oxnard, Jim Russell. followed him to Alaska where I have been ever since.
I was widowed 7 years ago, but have 2 wonderful grown children and a daughter-in-law from Vietnam.
I have been in the transportation business for the past 18 years and am currently the finance manager with a container ship company. All those groceries, clothes, new cars and beer have to get to Alaska somehow - and most of it comes on...Expand for more

I took up taiji and qigong about 10 years ago and ended up with a part interest in a massage theraphy school based in the Oriental healing arts. I also have some ownership in a farm in Tennessee that boards horses. Land rich and penny poor - that's me!
My mom still lives in Camarillo, so I get back there once a year or so. And although I am glad to have spent my formative years in Southern California, I can honestly say I love Alaska and don't know if I would ever leave. But it sure is nice to visit the beach.
