Jane's Story
Life
I left New York in June 1964, immediately following my marriage to a college classmate. We lived in totally flat cities from then (New Orleans, Houston and The Hague) until two years ago, when we retired from The Netherlands to live in the Texas Hill Country (Austin). Our oldest son and his family live here but are moving to New Hampshire this summer. The other two sons live in Boulder and San Diego.
My career was with international students. We...Expand for more
hosted 14 year-long high school students, and I ended up working at two universities, advising international students and scholars, primarily in the area of immigration law. I am now working as a volunteer with the international students and families at the University of Texas-Austin, assisting them with cultural adjustment and personal support. International students are a passion of mine and we open our home to assist them whenever we know of a need.
