Cliff's Story
Today, September 9, 2022, I lost my loving partner, confidant, amazing, beautiful, supportive, courageous, smart, caring wife and most of all my best friend in the entire world. Pam Vaniman, my wife for of almost 53 years, passed away after a long and courageous battle with Lung Cancer.
However, Pam's legacy lives on through her sons Dan and Bryan and their families.
Dan retired from the Air Force as a major but still worked for the Gov. in Germany. He now works for Deutsche Bank and will continue to live in Germany. Dan and his wife, Beate, have given us two fantastic grandchildren, Anna and Justin.
Bryan lives and works with his family in the CA Bay area. He and his wife, Ines, have also given us two fantastic grandchildren, Lucas and Emi.
As for me after almost 40 years of working in the fire service and 13 years as a private investigator I have finally retired for the third and hopefully, final time. Update: I am now volunteering for the Red Cross as a Government Liaison as well as working in Life Safety and Asset Protection. In further efforts to keep myself busy I am also Vice President for the local Amateur Radio Emergency Communication Team.

ove, understanding and support throughout this time. Without you all in my life I would not be where I am today.
To all those I have served with, I want to thank you. For you may not have realized it, but the wisdom and knowledge you imparted to me through the years has made me a richer and better person for having known you. I will and have always been honored, proud and humbled to have served with each and every member of the fire service and affiliated agencies I have come in contact with.
To those our teams have served, I hope in some way we had a positive impact during a difficult and in some cases catastrophic time in your life.
While things have changed, due to the passing of Pam, I still look forward to my life and increased activities with my children and grandchildren. As already stated I plan on participating in a number of volunteer activities including Amateur Radio Emergency Communications and activities with the American Red Cross. Lastly, I want continue to hone my skills with a number of hobbies I have neglected for far too long including ham radio, fly fishing, music and traveling/camping to name but a few of these activities.
While life has changed I am still moving forward as best I can and look forward to interacting with family and friends!!!
