Clyda Joan's Story
Workplace
After graduation from High School I worked as a phone operator for a clinic. Got married had 5 children,12 grandchildren. Went to college, also nursing school (worked 12 to 18 hours daily. While I was going to college I worked nights as an L.P.N. and continued to work nights while going to school for my R.N. My husband and I raised 3 neighbor boys. Had one stay with us while he was on parole. Nice kid. Have always worked 12 to 18 hours every night. Well 6 nights a weeks. Worked in a doctors office to help out whenever I could. Love nursing and wish I could go back. It is a rewarding profession. Couldn't have done what I did without the help of our 3 daughters as John traveled for several years. the Overland Park Schools. One teaches Middle School in Rolla Missouri and the other one has her own business making Bobbin Lace and teaches others. Our sons are also doing great. One is in West Virginia, production manager of a Bakery and the other one is in construction. We take care of his two little ones. (8 and 6) as he and their mother aren't together anymore. She keeps them one day a week. Live in Bella Vista now after living in Virginia,, Mo., Iowa, Illinois, Arizona. Arizona is my pick but the grandkids are closer where we live now. Have 2 married grandchildren, one in college, 3 out of of high school and working, and6 in grade and high school.
So my life hasn't been dull, but would like to have done more. Think the good Lord has left me here for a purpose and that hasn't been fullfilled.
