Clyde's Story
After high school, I found myself wandering around the local area. Not having a particular direction at the time, I decided to join the U.S. Army, and as they say, see the world. at the time volunteered for duty in Vietnam. Palgongsan, was a combined military operational compound. There was a few U.S. Air Force persons (18 of them), and a few U.S. Army types (14 of us). The other vehicle was a beat up old jeep that didn't any rear drive shafts - front wheel drive only. It took me almost a month to get both of them road worthy. Because of my going to extra mile to the trucks up and running, I was rewarded with a new re-assignment to HQ & HQ Btry, 38th Arty BDE Hqrs, Osan Air Base. Compared to the conditions on Palgonson, Osan was heaven. Later the story contines............
