If you asked me where I would be in 2008 ten years ago, I would have told you that I was an unmarried vet with no kids, and perfectly happy that way. Welllll....I was a little off on all that! After I graduated, I spent a year at ISU, mostly drinking, but getting some education in as well. In a very short period of time, I decided to get married and start a family, and I moved to Des Moines into my first house with my husband and a sweet little baby boy named Tyler. I was working full-time for Wells Fargo Bank at the time. About 18 months later came little Miss Emmalee. I decided to stay home with them after having her, and I did that until I decided to go back to school in 2002. I started at AIB in the Court Reporting program and ended up double majoring in Business. My third little girl, Trinity, was born in 2003, so I took a couple semesters off with her. Then back to the books!! I got a really cool opportunity to take part in a pilot program that AIB was doing in a new academic program called Voicecaptioning. It took the concepts from machine captioning and integrated a new technology called voice recognition. I was one of the 7 students selected to participate in this cutting-edge program. I made it out in about a year, and after doing some contract work for a company called Caption Colorado, they hired me as an employee. I have been there for 2 years now and I love it!!
