Colleen's Story
Life
After graduating from AHHS, I went to Central Michigan where I worked on the college newspaper for four years.
I studied mass media in London before taking my first job, as a reporter at the Alpena News. I've worked as a reporter and editor at daily, weely and monthly publications, including helping to found the now-defunct Insider Business Journal
About two years ago, I decided to take a chance and leave ...Expand for more
newspapers to become marketing manager for a local tech consulting company.
Six months later, I was laid off, and fortunately, I've found myself in an even better job, doing public relations for University of Michigan.
I still miss newspapers a lot, and I hope to get back into them, sort of. I'm working on my MBA at Michigan and hope to become a consultant to the newspaper industry when I graduate -- in 2005.
