Connie's Story
Well, I was the one of 4 that grew up in the Court House in Weyburn. I skated at the Coloceum and watched all the Jr A hockey games and played women's hockey at the intermissions. Played Volleyball in gr. 9 and some 10 but music practice after school took precedent until 1967/68 when I worked after school at Sears. You often saw me at the swimming pool, my favorite place.
I married in 1968 and divorced in 1997. Found a new friend next year and married him in 2001. He passed away in 2009. First husband passed away in 2011.
So my life as a single person has been challenging but joyful with visits to my children and grandchildren. As of 2014 I work in administration at a post secondary institution for the past 26 yrs and look forward to retirement in late summer 2014. I still enjoy my music, any water activities, some travel and the new challenge of learning how to golf. I used to think that was a crazy game!! It only drives you crazy ! I had an amazing trip to Cuba with a girlfriend last summer and hope to get some golfing in this summer and exercise on a more regular basis.
I started up a quilting group over 15 years ago and we are still together to this day. Most machine quilting but offers much creativity with designing.
I have taken Level I Reiki and starting Level II next month. I truly believe in holistic alternative health and its healing power. My 'writing' will fall in there some place as well. Who knows where retirement will take me.
