Connie's Story
Life
I left Madison Hgts. in '69 and moved to Lebanon Tn. 30 miles E. of Nashville. I have lived on the same road, in the country on a farm since then. I married my boyfriend while I was still in high school( hillbilly style ha) and finished my senior year married. I have been married to the same man for 30 years, yes, it is amazing!
My husband and I adopted 2 sisters when I was 19. My adult children are now 29 and 30 years old. My youngest daughter had twin girls and now my husband and I are raising them/
We did not know initially, but my daughters have genetically linked brain diseases, and the mother of the twins is unable to care for them. I have been very active in Mental Illnes Awareness, and Issues, and have always worked with cognitivly, and physically challenged children. I have taught at the same school for 19 years. nd paint. We have many pets, my husband trains and raises horses and mules. I have remained an active member of a local Church of Christ, and are deep in the middle of raising kids - for the second time around. I was in the middle of taking graduate classes towards a Masters in Spec. ed, when the twins were born and I haven't been back to school since, As a matter of fact alot of things I was looking forward to , with the kids out of the house also came to an abrupt halt! I love my family, and my life. I have had an interesting (to say the least) and full life. I feel that my career is my ministery, and that although i would not have consciencely made many choices, I feel I am fullfilling God's plan for me. My job is very demanding, unpredictable and fulfilling! as is my life at home. May God bless you as he has blessed me!, but many more times over!!!!!
