Constance's Story

I have three kids of whom I am really proud. 16 year old Ashli, who turns 17 this year and is probably going to turn out to be a college grad with a hell of a lucrative job. John, 14, who will probably be the designer of the next big operating system to knock Windows off its perch. And Ember, who turns 12 and will probably grow up to be a schoolteacher. Of course they're smart, they're MY KIDS!!! :) I also have three stepkids of whom I am really proud and I love them just as much as if they were my own. Paige, 15, who loves animals, Brandi, 10, who loves to draw, and Jakob, 8, who has done nothing except sprout like a weed. And continually shock his dad and I every time he brings home a report card, each one better than the last. I am in the United States Navy as a Second Class Construction Mechanic. Hoorah Seabees. Been in three years already. Hope to do my 20 and get out. Supposed to deploy to Afghanistan in a few months here. That will be my first time in another country too. I plan on bringing back souvenirs, all of them legally bought ;) It has been a long, hard, sorrowful road to get to where I am today... that said, NO ONE achieves anything by sittin on their behind. If you have a dream, if you have always wanted to do something, I encourage you to go ahead and do it...! School May 1992 -- I graduate high school, four months pregnant October 92 - Ashli Lin is born Jun 93- I get married for the first time. The marriage lasts roughly 9 years legally -- technically we lived together in our own place 9 months. Jan 95 My son John is born Nov 97 My daughter Ember is born 2002 -- Divorce becomes final (after I move to NY) 2002-2006 I work a variety of jobs, get my drivers license, my first car, learn to stand on my own two feet instead of depending on a man 2006 - I DEP into the Navy, am sworn in, and depart for bootcamp shortly after. My recruiter gets hit by a car trying to help me out and that is when I knew beyond any doubt I was going. I am given a challenge coin by his CO for rendering aid. I did it without thinking -- it was ingrained into me as a volunteer firefighter. 2008- I advance to Third Class Petty Officer. I get married again. 2009 - I advance to Second Class Petty Officer. Still going to do my duty overseas despite severe personal hardships at home. I have seen too many get out of deployments for trivial reasons I.E. "I don't believe Obama's presidency is legit" You signed up, now STEP UP. And the story still unfolds. My goals and dreams To regain a relationship with my children. they are STILL MY CHILDREN. No matter what. To make Chief Petty Officer one day. To find happiness. To pay off my debts and become financially independent To visit Japan. To increase my working knowledge of auto mechanics. To leave this world, a little better place than how I found it.
