Constance's Story
I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right. I teach as I do my computer consulting.
My way to blow off steam is to set back and relax with my husband. We love to travel and have been to Florida, Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, Tennesee, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Alabama together. We still have lots of places to go and see.
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have people to talk to, a fast pace, and faith that I can do the job to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
I have lived in Columbia, Missouri since graduation. I moved here three days after graduating because I loved the people and I felt that it had a lot more to offer me than where I was. I still feel like I made the right choice for me.
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the front walk and the back screened. I love my home and the location is one of Columbia's best kept secrets.
If I won $100 million, I'd give $10 million of it...Expand for more
to The Scarcoma Foundation, then spend the rest on investments, remodeling my home and college funds for my grandchildren.
Happiness is a state of mind. It is a choice and I choose to be happy. I would be happy if I were living in a box, but thankfully I'm not.
There are very few people who work as hard as I do. I put in an 8 hour day at Sam's Club and then I spend another 8 hours on fundraising, consulting, or taking care of my family.
The strangest job I have ever held was working for the Orthopaedic Foundation for Animals. The foundation certified dogs regarding hip displasia. I spent 8 hours a day running a photocopier. It was also the most boring job I ever held.
When asking about a do-over. I can tell you that knowing what I know now, I would have handled many situations differently. I am certain that I would have communicated much differently.
My oldest friend is Sue Ann Pomicter. We met at church and became best buddies. We don't see each other much, but when we do it is still like it was back then. She was my lifeline.
