Corbin's Story

Life Wow, so where else do I begin? Should I start off like Jim Morrison once said, "This is the strangest life I've ever known..." After bouncing back and fourth from Coeur d'Alene ID and Denver CO a couple times, I find myself still in Colorado. I guess I am still trying to find my place in the universe, which is ok. I spent years just working and drifting thru life's little quirks and doorways. I had many, an experience of the human condition. Some were good, some bad, and some with the jury still deliberating the conclusion. If given the chance to change my past, I would not change a thing though. The challenges of life and what we take from them are what make us who we are. For a long time I couldn't understand that, and infact I fought against it, wishing I could do things over. But now I accept my past and embrace it, for I am the accumulation of my life and my past. After a ten year absence, I went back to college in 2004, and I am working on a degree in Pyschology at the University of Colorado at Denver. At the rate I'm going I'll be done within the next 10 years or so... hehe. Hey, there's only so many hours a day, and I can't do school full time, work full time, and have any kind of a life, plus sleep. It's just not humanly possible. I'm working at a major telcom company as a contractor, and this was after working a...Expand for more
t Merrill Lynch as an account controller and supervisor. There were plenty of other jobs before these, working at the movie theaters, the video rental shops, the comic book and game stores, and down at the beach in Coeur d' Alene. Work is what it is for me, and untill I get my degree done and start working in my "carreer", it will always be work to me. Just something I do to try and get ahead, pay my bills, and occasionally have some fun. The adventure is nowhere near over yet. In fact, my adventure has hardly even begun. The search continues, and the stories continue to accumulate. Of course, to some it would be a boring story, for others a cautionary tale or a comedy, and for me it's just my life. Relativity by D.H. Lawrence. I like relativity and quantum theories because I don't understand them and they make me feel as if space shifted about like a swan that can't settle, refusing to sit still and be measured; and as if the atom were an impulsive thing always changing its mind. There's a thought-provoking poem by D.H. Lawrence for you. I swear I'm not trying to be preachy in any way. This is one of my favorite short poems by Lawrence, and I thought it might be interesting to add here. There will be more life to follow... and please, get in touch w/me if you aren't already... and you know who you are. :-)
