Cory's Story
Workplace
Cory Koski's career focus has been on developing his skills used in e-business and e-commerce solutions, asset and website management, and consulting. Working hard and enjoying being a part of creative, innovative, and diverse teams, Cory has worked as the lead developer and architect on many web applications, and has worked to develop unique and innovative technologies for his clients. He has also worked with other developers in his career to provide training and mentoring.
In 1997, Cory spread his entrepreneurial wings Northwestern Ontario as an Internet and Web consultant with Sundial NetWorks, a premier web development and marketing company in the region. After moving to work for a Duluth, MN, tourism start-up as the Executive Producer and technology architect, he settled back to Thunder Bay and established User-Friendly Computing as technology consultant and owner. Afterwards, Cory spent two years as Senior Software Developer with Wabang Creative Technology in Thunder Bay, where he worked to devise web solutions for the award winning website TBSource.com, and created foundation technologies for the sites TBTAuction.com, and My.Televisionlistings.com. Entertainment, real-estate, tourism, healthcare, and media businesses have relied on Cory's experience and knowledge to develop web technologies and assess their computing needs. He has enjoyed serving as a consultant to his customers and working to understand their business needs and develop cost-effective and appropriate solutions. Futher emphasizing his awareness of knowledge of complex solutions, Cory actgively worked in an IT team project that won the 2004 CIO Magazine Top 100 Award for Agility.
Further emphasizing Cory's committment to the web development community, he is an active member in several technology-related organizations and institutions. He is Assistant Organizer of the WebCentric Toronto user's group, which focuses primarily on Web industry education and business networking. He also serves on the Confederation College Multimedia Production Advisory Committee since 2000, where he is an industry advisor on their course panel. Being committed to Internet technology education, Cory has also conducted a number of Web workshops for both Lakehead University and Confederation College.
Cory now works for Microsoft in main campus in Redmond, WA as a Web Program Manager since November 2006.
