Cory's Story
Life
Now, it's time to write. What could happen in 32 years that I've been exploring the borders of this continent? Well, I am a musician, song writer, producer, and engineer. It all began one day while I lived in Clovis, CA. I took it upon myself to join the school choir at Cox Elementary, and well, the career took off from there. The funny thing is, I have no idea where my love for music came from. I guess it all started when I used to turn my radio on in the mornings, spending hours upon hours listening (and somtimes singing along). I left Clovis to be Fresno bound in August 1986, joined the choir for 1 more year, and then, my father asked me if I was interested in buying a saxophone. e tune up, and I kept playing it, and amazingly enough, still have the same tenor sax that I bought all those years ago. Over the years, I had performed in many concerts, half-time shows during football games, parades, state wide competitions, jazz festivals, and yes ran into some of the greatest icons in jazz music. Kenny G, the late Dizzie Gillespie, and the late Maynard Ferguson, are just to name a few. One day during my sophmore year, I found out that I was to get myself prepared to play a couple of tracks for studio taping at Maximus Recording Studio in Fresno, and from that point on, I decided that was it! That's what I'd like to do. So from the early days of my childhood, and my first visit to a studio, the idea of my own recording label came to light.
