Life
Since April 2004 I have lived in Antioch, California, a suburb in the East Bay of the San Francisco-Oakland, California area.
I married Kari Dahlen, a 1996 graduate of Brown University and a native of the San Francisco Bay area (a major reason why we moved here), on May 7, 2000.
Our first son, Arik, was born on January 17, 2001 in Manhattan. He was born a month before we moved to California. Our second son, Nate, was born on July 2, 2004.
I'm now serving as the District Director for California State Senator Tom Torlakson (D-Antioch).

ore taking this job, I served as Communications and Government Relations Director for Redefining Progress, a nonprofit public policy organization based in Oakland, California, that works on sustainability and economic policy issues.
Prior to joining RP, I was the managing director at Third Millennium: Advocates for the Future, a nonprofit Generation X think tank in Manhattan. I was the communications manager for the Washington, D.C.-based Concord Coalition, a nonpartisan grassroots organization advocating fiscal responsibility and balanced federal budgets.
