Crystal's Story

Life Many things have happened since May of 1996; I don't even know where to begin. I married Adolph and currently we have only one child, but would like more. We've been down a long hard road, but always manage to pull through. Are there any CPA's in our class that could give me a few pointers. Ha - Ha We moved to San Antonio for over a year and truley enjoyed it. We were actually living in Canyon Lake. It was a hunter's dream. We had deer galore -- they'd eat right out of your hand. Then, as some of you may know, trajedy struck. Not only room-mate, but life-time friend of my husband's and mine passed away. We then realized that life was too short to spend away from the ones that you love. So, we decided to move back home so our daughter could attend the same school as we did and be closer to her grandparents. We still vacation in the hill country and occasionally stop in to say a quick howdy to the old neighbors. We now own our own home and several rent houses. We are trying to get the farm going, but so far the only livestock we have is my 30 year old mare - she's been a good horse for me for over 20 years. I am interested in starting my own bloodline in the Missouri Fox-trotter and Spotted Saddle-bred horses because of her. I have already managed to track down some of her bloodline and spoke to her original owner from so many years ago. Eventually, we hope to find our place in the farm and ranch industry. icing it at this time. Instead, I am a vet. tech at an animal hospital. This has become my career passion; however, I hope to own my own kennels within the next 5 years to help promote my horse dreams. Although, I don't have much time to spare, I try to stay active in my daughter's school and extra-corricular activies. I volunteer a lot with the Girl Scouts and one year, I even coached her cheer-leading squad. Talk about a challenge -- 14 2nd grade girls and you have no experience as a teacher or a cheerleader. I wouldn't take it back though; I had no idea I was going to miss it. I wanted to coach again, but the following year I had two jobs and no time. My daughter was having problems in her studies and couldn't participate, so I devoted my time to her. Hopfully, we can try again next year; however, she is still a scout and will be in 4-H and wants tumbling and dance classes along with cheer. I don't know how far I can stretch, but am willing to give it a shot. My daughter went on her first trail-ride this year and I now realize that she shares my passion. I now need more trail horses so she can continue the experince. Her dream now is to go on the anual eight day trailride to San Antonio as I did. As a family, we also enjoy a lot of fishing, hunting, camping, and of course, floating the rivers. We haven't kept up with many of the old friends, but still go out and visit with a few. I am looking forward to the reunion this year and will hopefully see ya'll there.
