Crystal's Story
Life
Man, it's been an interesting one. In case anyone ever wondered why I wasn't at graduation, my parents kicked me out of the house around January, 1991 and I moved to Kansas City to live with my father in May 1991. From there, I moved to Baton Rouge, then back to Chicago (when I attended COD), then out to L.A. with Stefanie Deddo (from our graduating class), where I met my first ex-husband, Greg. I lived there for almost a year, then moved to Montana with Greg on a bet (short, funny story), bought and ran a gas station for a while, then moved to South Carolina, Atlanta, back to South Carolina, and then finally to my current resting place, St. Petersburg, Florida (in Tampa Bay) Whew!
Greg and I married in 1993, divorced in 2000, and are best of friends to this day. In January, 2001, I began seeing a wonderful man, Nic. We were married in 2005, but though we loved each other dearly, we ended up getting divorced.
My boyfriend David and I are expecting (a planned family) - my due date is March 8, 2009, and we are both thrilled!

weeks old); Thomas, 9; Twoface, 10; and a dog, Sophie - she's a Doberman/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, about a year old.
School
I always thought that I was "friends with everyone", belonging to no particular group, but looking back, I don't think that's true. I am shocked when I look at the alumni lists by how few people I actually knew. I had a great time anyway!
College
I wish I had gone more than a few quarters and gotten a degree, but at the same time, I think I've learned more doing things the way I have than I ever would have in school. The difference, I think, is the length of time it took me to get where I am, but the trip has been worth it!
Workplace
I have had some crappy jobs in the past - I'm the poster girl for the reason you should go to college! I found a company for which I loved working - the Eckerd Corporation. I'm a database administrator, and love it. Unfortunately, the company was sold, so my ex-husband and I opened a women's clothing store. We HATED retail, so in September 2006, we sold the store, and I was a homemaker for 9 months. I ended up getting back to work as a DBA.
