Crystal's Story
Life
I was quiet in Toll Gate, and left that persona behind after graduation. I managed to fail spectacularly after 1 semester at URI while addicting myself to the internet and everything associated with it. I've never managed to get a degree, but I've taught myself several programming languages and now run my own small web design company, suplementing my income by selling photography and crafts and "adult entertainment" via the 'net. Bet you never expected that, eh?
I'm married to a wonderful Canadian guy who tolerates my joking about his homeland and cracks jokes about how everyone in RI is Italian with mafia ties and how bad the American public school system is. We met online and got married in 2002. No kids for us, now or ever; we're happy with our ferrets and like to spend our money on geeky things, like computer upgrades and World of Warcraft, or tattoos, rather than diapers and formula.
School
Yeah, so I was smart and quiet and didn't talk to many folks at TG. I went to URI, talked to everyone, went to frat...Expand for more
parties and spent a lot of time making out on the roof of Lambda Chi Alpha back in '95. Then I failed, and never went back because I'm usually too poor to do so, and no one in their right mind will loan me money.
College
Like the profile says, college was pretty hazy. I lived in the "wellness dorm", better known as the "feel good" dorm. When I wasn't messing around there I was at frat parties with friends or partaking in behaviors that would violate the member conduct section of this site. *grin* Very little time was spent in classes, and several of the classes that I did go to I was either asleep or drinking in.
I spent about 1.5 semesters living on URI's campus, moved home, and worked a cruise ship for a summer before attempting CCRI, where I became known as a "lab rat" for hanging out in the computer labs all night playing online. I just don't have the ambition to spend all that money when I don't have a clue what I'd get a degree in. No regrets though - the 'net has expanded my horizons in ways I never imagined.
