Crystal's Story
Life
After high school I went to Durham College in Oshawa for 2 years. I didn't graduate but I came out with more knowledge than what I went in with.
During my time at Durham I met a British guy called Adam over (of all things) the internet. We decided to meet up in June 1998 (for 4 wks) and December 1998 (for 4 weeks). During his time in Canada in December 1998 we got engaged. We got married 19 August 2000 and are still happily married. Not bad for a long distance relationship eh??!!
After getting married Adam went back to the UK and I stayed behind to take care of all the paperwork required for a visa. I eventually went to the UK to live in January 2001. ng in central heating etc. Making it our home!! It was during this time that we welcomed our first child, Monica, on 19 Nov 2003.
However, Adam and I always said we would move back to Canada once we had children. So, we were in the process of getting all the paperwork together when, in December 2004, I discovered I was pregnant with our second child. All that said, we went into panic mode and to our amazement we got everything sorted out with Canadian immigration and managed to sell our house. Monica and I came to Canada in March 2005 and Adam followed and landed in Canada in May 2005. We settled with my parents for about 1 year before Adam found a job in Waterloo. During this time we welcomed our second child, a girl, Maclaren, 26 Aug 2005.
And there you have it. My life since high school.
