Life
I'm back at the beach after living and working in New Jersey from 1977-1999! I am a psychotherapist in private practice in Manhattan now, after 11 years at an outpatient mental health clinic in N.J. Prior to getting my M.S.W.,I was an elementary school teacher and had two daughters-Sherene,31,an attorney; Renee,26, a teacher. I married James Hannon (from Far Rockaway also) in 1967 after I graduated from St.John's University. I taught school in Farmingdale L.I. 1967-71, then had my children and was a stay at home mom 1971-77 while still in Far Rockaway. ., having spent my childhood on Beach 9th St. and my adolescence on 19th St.,(where I met my husband). I went back to school at N.Y.U. in 1986 to get my M.S.W.,after working as a substitute teacher during the years my daughters were growing up. My career change was very exciting and stressful! I have kept in touch with my close friends from Far Rockaway over the years and have had the joy of resuming those relationships since I moved back (to Long Beach now)with my husband. We have all known each other for 40+ years! I attended P.S.39 1951-58 ; J.H.S. 198 1958-60; and Far Rockaway H.S. 1960-63 while living on Empire Ave.(near B.9th) with my family. It was a great place to grow up!!!
