Cynthia's Story
I attended Milliken Jr High after the Vanderhurst's adopted me and I met my best friend, Laurel, there. In school, I went by my middle name, Marie. For my first two years of high school, I attended Argyll Academy(Campbell Hall) where I met my BFF, Nancy Marks. We were the two poorest girls at Argyll but still had a blast. I only attended Grant High School my senior year, so I didn't have a ton of friends or memories.
Overall, I wouldn't say high school was my favorite part of life. I met a lot of nice people, but since I was only there for a year, I didn't connect with most of the things that make high school so memorable.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my adult life. I met and married the love ...Expand for more
of my life in 1987 and have two adult children, who make me proud every day. Our son and his wife had their first baby in June 2018 and are expecting their second in July 2019. I am one proud NANA of the cutest baby girl, Aurora. My daughter is a retired professional hockey player, mentor, and teacher in the Buffalo area. Currently, my husband and I live in a small town in North Carolina, but I come to California at least once a year to visit family and friends.
I have lived in 5 states; California, Texas, Michigan, Wisconsin, and North Carolina. I have traveled to every state in the country, but two, five Canadian provinces, Mexico, Iceland, Norway, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and Russia.
