Cynthia's Story

Life Hello to all my dear old classmates! I hope this finds everyone in good health and settled in their lives happily. As for me, I have been in Gainesville for almost 16 years now. My education is diverse. I am working towards a Master’s Degree in Decision and Information Sciences at the University of Florida, Warrington College of Business. I also work there. I am currently a web developer for the department and do some consulting and web development on the side. Computer programming is not so bad these days I guess! (Yes, I have become a computer geek!) I have an extensive background in the medical field as well some heavy undergrad work in the nursing field and several years experience working for a liver/kidney transplant surgeon. This was at Shands Hospital in the Department of Surgery. Tiring of the medical field, I left to learn something new and it was a great move! I have learned change is good! environment in the DIS department and I work with wonderful people – that always makes it easier to go to work anyhow! I have three lovely kids: Sean, Kelly, and David. Sean is now 18 years old and is the Valedictorian of the Newberry High School Class of 2000! We are very excited and thankful to have such a wonderful son. He placed 3rd in the State Science Fair this year and was awarded a summer internship with Cirent, a division of Lucent Technologies in Orlando, Florida… (I hate that he’s leaving home as I am the worry queen! L) He will return in the Fall however to begin his Electrical Engineering major here at the University of Florida. He has earned the FULL academic scholarship, as well as a scholarship from the Electrical Engineering Department which we are also thankful for. The other two are plugging along... daughter is a competition cheerleader and 9 year old is still a sweet kid. Write me for more! [email protected]
