Cynthia's Story
Life
Note: I noticed after I signed on as "friend" of Central HS, several from Central checked out my profile and were probably trying to understand who I am. I simply signed on to Central so I could check for an old grade school chum who attended Central.
After high school, I worked for the St. Louis Police Department for a year and a half where my Dad had earlier been chief chemist.
At the PD, I started to learn about computers. I attended junior college part-time until I left for the DC area where I lived for 15 years, continuing my computer career until 1986. For the next 6 years, I managed an international portrait painter from Austria and from there, went into business for myself on the Internet, which I am still doing. If you search on the term "portrait artists"...Expand for more
in Google, mostly likely, my web site will be the first one returned - A Stroke of Genius.
In 1981, I moved to Florida where I've been since. In 1985, I went to St. Louis to handle my Dad's estate and fell in love with the city. Confused about where I wanted to be, I got an apartment there and lived between Florida and St. Louis until late 1999, when I finally decided living two places was more than I could handle. It was a hard decision, but I gave up my St. Louis apartment which was just off Grand Boulevard and a few blocks from Roosevelt.
2010 Update
I am once again living between two places - South Carolina (my birth place) and Tampa Bay area. I am about to be a first time grandmother next May. AND my son was selected ast a 2010 Best New Chef by Food & Wine magazine.
