Cynthia's Story
Life
I lived in New Orleans from 1972-2005. Received my BA and Master's in Elementary Education and certification in Special Education k-12. Worked in Orleans Parish for 24 years in Spec. Ed. until Katrina.
Had one son who died in his sleep after an allergic reaction. Kevin was 21. The love of my life.
Since Katrina, I have come home. It's good to be home!!
I am currently retired from Louisiana schools and worked for the Diocese of Biloxi 2006-07. I taught 4th grade at St. James School and worked with Sr. (Berchman-then) Anna (now) who taught me in 6th grade.
In July '07, I was hired in Biloxi Public Schools as a SPED teacher at Michel Seventh G...Expand for more
rade School. It is great to be back in public education. I
will work in BPS until I am forced to retire.
I live in D'Iberville and am very content with my life. I spend a lot of time with my Dad and that is great. As I said before it is good to be HOME.
Locating classmates is great, too. I have located about 90% of our graduating class. I have also located a few of the kids from elementary school. I initiated a Girl's Night Out
(GNO) and once a month we get together
for dinner and a movie. We have great
times!!
Looking forward to reacquainting with any SH Class of '72 member. I am working on plans for a reunion and hope to see everyone there.
