My nursing career began during the war (WWII)I servred as night supervisor at NGH for two years, Then I added a college degree later (W&M). My veteran husband and I married during our senior year at W&M. I held Head Nurse positions at MCV and on Cord Injury at McGuire VA Hospital, while he attended med school. My last hospital work was Pediatric Supervisor at DePaul Hosp. I retired to raise our two children. Later years, I returned to nursing, and later established the Volunteer Department at Lake Taylor Hospital, Norfolk. My several years of nursing were the most satisfying work I could have found, and were the realization of my life long anbition. It was meaningful then, and helpful in all the later years of my life.
