Daisy's Story
My Life:
From 1969, upon graduating from Peabody, I attended Southern University Baton Rouge. I graduated in May of 75 with a BS in Chemistry. I returned to Southern in August of 1975 as an Assistant Professor and worked there for approximately 13 years. During my tenure at Southern, I worked as a summer Research Scientist for NASA, Cleveland, Ohio, 1983. My assignment was to help design a long lasting nickel-cadnium battery, that would keep the satellites orbiting longer in space.
My second summer research position was in Colorado Springs at the Air Force Academy.
I worked with tnt=dynamite to look at the by products. This was very exciting. This was truly an experience.
At Peterson Air Force Base, we worked with chimpanzie. They were placed in a huge centrifuge and were rotated to speeds of g-forces 7. Our job was to invent a pill that could be given to our military pilots, that would produce less adrenaline so that the could fly their planes higher snd not pass out, so that they are not be detected by other countries radars.
Between working, I got married, had a son, and divorced. I went back to school to get my Masters in Chem...Expand for more

I later relocated to ElPaso, Texas. I started a school for drug abused boys and kept the school opened for two years. I then decide to go into public education. In 2000, I became a Vice-Principal at a middle school. I have been in administration for nine years. Currently, I am a Coordinator for School Improvement. I help schools improve standardized test scores to meet federal guidelines.
