Dameon (Deon)'s Story
Life
I had a lot of information about since we graduated what I had been up to. I decided to change it to just the most important things that have happened since we graduated.
I joined the Army in 1994 and ended up in Vilseck, Germany, as a tanker. If you wonder what that is, I drove around M1A1 Abrams Tanks. It was an awesome feeling to be in control of 63 tons of pure fun. I never was deployed to a war zone, but I would have went if my Uncle Same told me to. I spent these eight years of my life, driving and shooting tanks, playing with 50 caliber machine guns, m16s, 9mm, M203 grenade launchers, and pretty much any other weapon they would let me hold, and driving any vehicle they would let me drive.
In 1998, I met a wonderful German woman on a blind date. 2 months and 3 days later, we were married under the palm trees at the courthouse in Nahunta. Together, we have three wonderful children, Dyona, Marc, and Nicolas. They keep us on our toes and on the move, playing baseball, softball, soccer, and football, and being involved in church and school activities. Sometimes it is tough to do everything that they want to do, but they are well-adjusted children that know how to behave and act, whether it be in public or at home.
While in the Army, they also taught me to be a desk jocke...Expand for more
y, which helped me to get a job as an office manager in Macon when we left the Army. While there, I finally finished the degree that I began in 1990. Yes, it took me 16 years to finally get that second tassel that hangs from your graduation cap. My degree is in Middle School English and Science Education (fancy words for a teacher).
When I graduated, we moved back to Nahunta, where I have spent my first year teaching Math at the high school...hmmm, a science/english teacher teaching math...fun, fun, fun. If any of you remember what I was like, you will know that this has not been hard, and I feel that I can teach anything. However, my dream job became available at the middle school, so next year I will be teaching Physical Science to the eighth graders of Brantley County. I am so looking forward to it.
Katy and the kids are adjusting well to life in the small town. Katy is pursuing her career in the Restaurant Industry and currently works as a manager at Ruby Tuesday's in Waycross. Marc, Nicolas, and Dyona are playing round ball for the first time, keeping us busy going to at least five practices a week. We are living out in Raybon, a place that I never thought I would live, in a beautiful 2400 square foot house on almost 2 acres of land. If you are ever reading this drop me a line.
