To begin my life with the beginning of my life, I record that I was born (Seems as good a way as any to start a biography) in Romulus, Michigan on twenty-nine January nineteen-hundred and forty-three (a Friday). I don’t remember much about the next five years but beginning with my first day of Kindergarten the memories come strong and clear. Mostly I remember it was more fun to play than to pay attention to the teacher. Maybe that is why they asked me to repeat the first grade. Anyway, by the second grade many of my BHS class of 1961 classmates were already my friends. The next ten years was the best decade of my life. I only wish I had realized it at the time. You all, my classmates and friends, filled those years with happy memories that entertain me and brighten my outlook on life when I call them to mind. The next fifty years have been pretty busy.
