Dan's Story
Life
After graduation from Ward, I went to Kansas University (go Jayhawks!) During the first three summers I worked for Arby's Roast Beef at about 60th and Leavenworth Road (now some sports bar), and the last summer I worked as an engineering intern for the Federal Aviation Administration.
In May of 1984, I graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree and went right to work for AT&T Technologies in Lee's Summit, MO.
I lived at home with my parents in Kansas City, KS for about 10 months before getting married to my college sweetheart (Deanna Sanderson, graduated from Bishop Miege) in April of 1985 and buying a very small home in Lee's Summit, MO.
In November of 1988, we moved to Austin, Texas and I worked for AT&T on loan to a place called SEMATECH, and in September 1992,...Expand for more
we moved to Orlando, Florida with AT&T.
We adopted our first daughter in June of 1995; she was born in Kansas City. Then we moved to Dallas Texas in August of 1995; I left AT&T and went to work for Texas Instruments, to get out of Florida and closer to home. I got my pilot's license while in Dallas, and bought an airplane (N3187Y).
In 2001, we left Texas and moved back to Kansas City (actually Gladstone) and I have worked for Cerner Corporation since then.
In 2004, (at the age of 42!) we adopted our second daughter, who was also born here in Kansas City.
We are active members at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Gladstone. Deanna and I teach 6th grade PSR (CCD) and marriage preparation. Our oldest daughter is in 8th grade there and our youngest is 4 years old.
