Dan's Story
After receiving degrees in journalism and political science from Northern Illinois University, I married Pat Liesse (L-P 1973). Pat also attended NIU, graduating with degrees in accountancy and finance. We have been married for more than 30 years.
I worked in newspapers, and then migrated into corporate communications and investor relations, where I have spent the better part of the last 30 years working for several major companies in the Chicago area.

Pat worked for a CPA firm, and later became a chief accounting officer for CNA Insurance and then CFO for insurance operations at both GE and some Warren Buffet investments. She has since retired, and spends her time on charity and community work.
We have two daughters. Kristyn recently received her master's from Boston University a few years ago, and is an opera singer. Megan is pursuing a degree in interior design.
For fun, I do community theater in the Chicago area, mostly in the Northwest suburbs. I recently completed "1776" and "Brigadoon." I have performed several times as the voice of the plant, Audrey II, in "Little Shops of Horrors."
