Dan's Story
I attended Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma right after High School. Got married there and Samuel was born in Tulsa in 1984. We moved to San Diego in 1985. Earlier, my father's company transferred him from West Virginia to California so that seemed the best place for us to move after bible school. I Didn't end up as a minister and needed to provide for my family so I went to college in California. I liked science and biology and ended up with a B.S. in Molecular Biology from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). I worked for The Scripp's Research Institute and a couple of biotech companies over a period of about 9 years. An old roommate from college started law school while I worked at The Scripps Research Institute and it seemed interesting. Science can get repetitive and a lot of times you perform experiments alone. There was a certain narrative in each case I studied that I enjoyed and the background of the law applied made it more interesting. I continued working in biotech as I went to law school at the University of San Diego School of Law and graduated in 1999. assed the California Bar while working for Agouron/Warner Lambert and was promoted to an attorney. Then, Warner Lambert was acquired by Pfizer. Great! Now I was an attorney for Pfizer. My wife and I were divorced when I went to UCSD. I had a couple of serious failed relationships after that. My family had all moved back to West Virginia and Ohio. It was a little lonely out there. My brother Jack graduated from medical school, married a southern girl, and ended up in a neonatology practice in Jackson, Mississippi. He wanted his family to move there and thought that owning a business franchise of a local coffee shop was a great idea. He set it up and I left my very good job to move to Mississippi to run the thing in July of 2004 and have been her since. I married Linda Burrell in February 2009. She has an 11 year old son who lives with us. I have a son too named Samuel who is married and has a daughter who is almost a year old. Yes. I am a grandfather.

Here's what I want to know though. I took Bonnie Davis to her prom in Williamstown and there were all my old friends sitting around a table all sullen. Eric Stephen, Rob Fenton, Bob Miller. No one would talk to me. You guys just stared. Maybe I was just a bad dancer. That memory just sticks in my mind. What was up?
