Dan's Story

Life The last time I saw anyone from high school was running into Mike Waldron at the University of Buffalo May 85 during Finals week. I told him how happy I was to be there and he told me he was transferring. I graduated UB in 88 with a BA in English, went to SUNY Binghamton for my Masters then returned to Buffalo to do more grad work in video and film. Ended up living in Buffalo until 1997 working at an NPR and Jazz radio station and as a music director at an art center. The National Endowment for the Arts boned us on a grant, so I found myself laid off in 97. I moved back home to the NYC area in Sept of that year. Early in 98 I took a 3 week job at Council of Senior Centers and Services of NYC a...Expand for more
s a community organizer. They found out I had fund raising experience, so they asked me to stay a little longer. I'm now in my 7th year of that 3-week job working as a development coordinator. I currently live in the beautiful Bushwick section of Brooklyn NY-which is finally recovering from the great blackout...of 1977. I also got engaged this year to Kat Stoutenborough and we'll be married in Western Michigan on Oct 1 2005. Though I've obviously gone from "Quietest Classmate" to "Quietest Alumnus", I would actually like to hear from old classmates. Gimme a shout and tell me your life story. Hell, if you're in town, join me for a beer in Brooklyn. There's a stool with your name on it next to mine.
