Dan's Story
Life
I've been in the broadcast equipment industry since graduating from Oregon State University in 1967. Built and ran my own FM station for 11 years. Sounds glamorous, but wasn't. Small market radio takes as much work and smarts (maybe more) as it does in the big cities. Unfortunately, the pay sucks! Am presently selling equipment to stations around the country via phone and Internet.
Lost my wife to massive infection she picked up in hospital this January (2007). It's strange being single again. Moved from suburban Chicago back to Casper, Wyoming to be with kids and many friends I'd made in earlier years. I moved here 29 years ago and it's...Expand for more
become my home. Winters will be spent in Mesa, Arizona. While I love it here, most of the time, I have lost interest in shoveling snow!
Update August 2016: Remarried in 2008 and retired in 2010. Spend winters in Mesa in a nice house we bought in 2011 and the summers in cool Wyoming. Life goes on...too quickly!
Update February 2018...I was widowed for a second time on December 29, 2017. My wife Shirley succumbed to pneumonia after a bout with flu. She'd been in poor health and in much pain for about three years. Once again I'm faced with major life changes. Thanks to the the several Cavaliers that sent flowers and condolences.
