Dan's Story
After High School I served in the Air Force being stationed at Okinawa and Korea. In 1971 I entered Purdue Calumet to pursue a degree in electrical engineering technology. In that pursuit I met the love of my life Patricia Kathleen (Tricia) Finley. She agreed to be my wife on November 29, 1974. I graduated from Purdue Cal in December 1975 BS EET. We then moved to Duluth, Minnesota and I started my career in the electric utility industry at Minnesota Power and Light. It can get very cold in Duluth. In December 1978 with our new born baby girl Kelly Kathleen we left the great outdoors and returned to Indiana. Bloomington Indiana and Hoosier Energy Electric Coopertive have been our home since December 1978. In 1981 we were blessed with a son Samuel Patrick. our daughter Kelly delivered a baby boy named Nolan. Nolan is joy to behold. Grandparenting is good for the soul. Kelly is expecting again this September 2014. We are truely blessed.
Still a few years away from retirement. I hope to work until 2016. Sixty Seven seems to be a good year for graduating from high school and retiring from the work force.Tricia and I are still together and I am a very lucky guy and very much in love. We hope to travel to England and beyond in the coming years.
Favorite Movies: Annie Hall and Top Gun
Favorite Sporting Teams: Chicago Cubs (I hope in my lifetime); Indiana University basketball (1976, 1981 and 1987 as well as a few near misses)
Favorite Music: Meat Loaf; the 60's and 70's station on SIRUS
Favorite Books: Red Storm Rising, The Flight of the Old Dog, and most of the David Balducci books
