Dan's Story
Life
Hello Fraser High.
Its been a while since high school...well, over 30 years for me (and for you too).
We had many wonderful times. Building the floats, the football and hockey games, Miceli's after baseball, wrestling a bit, and hanging with many different kinds of people. Not to mention the many interesting events around working at the Auto Parts store.
I've gone to a few of the annual alumni picnics and they were really great funn. I enjoy keeping in contact with many of my high school friends.
After high school, I worked for a few years, then attended the University of Michigan achieving my degree in 1985. After working a few more years, I attended Wayne State University's business school for an MBA, graduating in 1993. I made the Dean's list there, that was a great feeling of accomplishment for me.
Started working in financial services in 1993, providing products and services for Fortune 100-500 type customers. In 2003, I took a job transfer to Chicago. Am working in downtown Chicago and living in the burbs. Its been a great time and we are enjoying it very much.
I married in 1990 to a great lady from Allen Park who moved to Novi for her senior year. Our daughter together is now 15 years old. Married life has really been a good thing for me.
In high school I partied too much (as some of you may recall). I don't really know why, but somehow made it out of the mess and left that all behind. Though I have really enjoyed my life there are a few things I would have changed regarding the partying part.
I feel very fortunate about my life. I have worked hard for many years (and still working hard) and things are very cool and getting better every day.
I hope this finds you well.
Dan

College
After High School, worked for 5 years...in the Auto Parts Stores, and at my Dad's shop. Decided to go to college and began at Macomb Community College (12 mile road) in 1980. Earned a 3.7 GPA and was accepted to Wayne State, University of Michigan and Michigan State University. Went to University of Michigan.
Started in Ann Arbor the fall of 1981. Was pre-med for a while but washed out of organic chemistry. I really liked it.. but either I wasn't cut out for it.. or wasn't prepared for weedout courses.
Anyway, changed to double major in Psychology and Economics. Psych was my favorite but Econ was fun too. Studied Child Advocacy at the Law School and Real Estate at the Business School. Learned a lot of lessons and had some fun too. Spent 4 years in Ann Arbor. Lived above a dentist office on Church and Hill streets, kitta-corner from East Quad dorm.
Had a VW beetle my first year there but it caught on fire and burned up (that was an interesting day). Then, I walked and rode my bike the other 3 years.
Graduated in 1985. Was very proud. My parents gave me a fantastic party at the Northfield Hilton in Troy... I couldn't believe it.
After graduation, I sold real estate and worked on a Congressional re-election campaign. After the candidate won re-election, I went to Washington DC for a Congressional Internship. Lived in Arlington, Virgina and worked on Capital Hill for 2 years. It was a great experience.
Came back to Michigan in 1988, worked for 3 years. Got married in 1990. In 1991, went back full time for my MBA at Wayne State University. Earned a 3.6 GPA and made the Dean's List, another great surprise. Lost my Dad the semester I started and lost my Mom the semester I finished. That was tough but my Mom told me to finish... So I did. Thanks Mom.
