My Job
After 35 years it's time to do almost anything else!
4/5/2009
Now in Glendale, Arizona since 2000.
Finally retired and long overdue. Life now is shared with Elise, my wife of 20 years, 4 shared children, 3 grandchildren and 1 more due in 2 weeks. Over the years I have continued my love affair with cars. 75ish have passed thru my garage since that '57 Metropolitan in high school. We now have 9, 5 of which are antique. Our '25 Ford Model T gets used the most and we will be taking it on a tour in June thru Kanab,Utah and Bryce Canyon and the north rim of the Grand Canyon.
Along the way I earned a pilots license and was very lucky to be able to fly all over England while we lived and worked there from 1994 to 2000. We also brought back a 1958 Morris Minor which we still have. It's a riot to drive/play with.
My golfing days are prety much over. It's too much strain on my back. Oh well....Expand for more
Today would have been Dad's 85th birthday so most of the family is headed to Mom's for dogs and burgers. Too bad Don & Bobs is 2500 miles away. I could use a frozen custard as well..

Life is good...Finally have a grandchild within hugging distance (there are 3 in Florida) He's almost 4 months and his name is Royce Archer Sockwell. I get to babysit mon-fri from 3p to 6p.
The Model T tour in Kanab, Utah was terrific. I'll post a couple of pics. I've been trying to get the brakes on the '72 Corvette back together and back to driving status. The '58 Morris Minor is ready for another season of cooler weather. No a/c at 110 degrees (or more) is a bit much.
Take care...Dana

Just got back from an 85 mile raft trip down the San Juan River in Utah. There were 14 of us including my brothers, David, Doug, Dennis. It was a lot of fun but makes one appreciate the conveniences of RVing.
Off to Jacksonville Florida tomorrow to help with a very ailing Mother-in-law. Happily though, I get to see the rest of the kids and grandkids. Maybe my son Dana and I will find the time to race his Corvette.
