Dana's Story
Life
After graduating from CSU, Chico, (80) I moved to Redding, Calif. and taught kindergarten for 10 years in the Cottonwood School District. During that time, I got married, (Andy Byers) divorced, and re-married. With my second husband, I spent the 90's teaching overseas on many continents. In 2000, we moved to Rochester, Minnesota where I started a new career in Information Technology as a media specialist. My husband teaches in the high school and I work in the elementary schools. teaching was not as exciting as it was for us in the 90's, so we have moved back to Rochester to work for the same school district. We have one child, a daughter, who is now graduated from college. We are exploring the empty nest lifestyle. Fast forward to the present: in June, 2021, we sold the house in Minnesota and moved back to Redding, Ca., where our professional lives began.. In July, 2021, my husband of 32 years died suddenly of a heart attack. I am starting to venture out now as a single person. Daughter lives in L.A. and I am known as "Gram D" to two very adventurous grandsons. Funny where life takes one!
