Dana's Story
Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect. How true is that.
My life though kinda has turned out how I expected, as far as my life goes, it's just the events that have taken place in my life are not what I expected at all.
I am where I thought I'd be at this point in my life. I have a great house, great job, great friends, and the best kids in the world. Sadly one of the most unexpected event was on July 30th 2005, when I lost my 15 year old daughter. That was the very worst thing that could have ever happened to me, well except to lose my other daughter. I pray that it doesn't ever happen to any of you that read this.
My oldest daughter is in the Army, shes now 23, and is serving her second tour of duty over in Iraq. Her first tour almost got her killed, but she healed, and is now back there. I'm so very proud of her for everyhting she has endured.
I was married for 27 years, but have lived alone for the past 3 years. I have a wonderful man in my life, but losing my daughter really took a lot out of me. Maybe one day we'll get married, but to love all you can is scary right now.
Anyway, I'm a part owner of a pharmacy, I'm a licensed Pharmacy Technician, and love my job. I've lived in northern Calif. since the day after I graduated in 1979, except for 3 years in LA in the early 80's.
I have more but that about sums it up for me as far as my life.
I do want to say that life is fragile and it COULD happen to you, so love all you can, live as if there were no tomorrow..........
I hope my friends remember me as a nice, sweet caring friend with a big heart. Not a stuck up snob,.I know I was quiet in school and a lot of the popular girls shyedaway from me because they didn't know how to get to know me.
I always wanted to be a singer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a crazy idea. As it turns out, they were right. I still can't sing , thenks to my 5th grade music teacher who told me I couldn't sing.
I blow off steam by going into my workout room and do an hour of vigo...Expand for more
rous workout. After an hour, I'm pretty much steemed out. My favorite way to relax use to be to take our boat to the lake nearby and just hang out in the middle of the lake.
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have motivation, positive attitude, and controllable stress to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
I was very obsessed with Nascar for many years, but nowdays all the good ole guys are gone, and when Dale Earnhart died it knocked the wind outo fo my sails. I love my 2 kats because they are loving sweet, not obnoxious, in your face wild beasts. Don't watch TV. I use to love to water ski, before July 30th,
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel everything and add on a kitchen which I did. My dream home would be this home I live in now.
That life is too short, love your family with everything you have, they may not be there tomorrow. Trust me, it happened to me.
A teacher I'd like to see is Mr. Nobles, Mr. Curran, and Mrs. Jellison, they all taught me many things, and I was impressed with who they were and how they handled their students
If I won $100 million, I'd give half of it to My daughter Manda, then spend the rest on helping others, send anonomyous cash to people that really need it and donate to childrens charities.
Never did the campus life..
To be truly happy you have to be happy with yourself first, and happy with who you are. For me to be truly happy, I'd want my daughter back, but to be as happy as I can be with her not here, I want to be here surrounded by my family, Manda and Brian
I don't dress like I did 10 or 20 years ago. I never followes what was in style. I have my own and I'm very comfortable with it. I use to dress as if I was younger than I am, but after I lost my daughter, many priorities changed for me, including what I wear.
My trophies on my mantel are my huge victories, the are photos of my 2 girls. They are the best victory anyone coud ever want.
If I had one do over, there's no question what I'd do. I'd change the chain of events on July 30th.
