Daniel's Story
I Attended grades 1 through 8th at St. Charles Borromeo. I remember most of my elementary school classmates. (Still have a crush on Myra Rodrigue and her younger sister Janet.)
I served as an altar boy with classmates Glen S., Lee W, Danny H, Willard/Cookie B, Byron T., Steven G., and Donald Z. I remember those times well.....especially the cigar smoke in the hall when our report cards were handed out.....and the paddling that occurred following a bad grade in conduct.
I Retired from Texaco/Star Enterprise/and Shell ...Expand for more
after working 33 years as a Staff Process Chemist. It was Mr. Rochelle at Destrehan High that got me interested in the sciences.
After retirement, I Studied the fruiting and growing characteristics of well over a hundred different fig varieties. I authored a fig blog and shared my fig research findings with the world. I Became an expert on the fig varieties that were bred by Dr. O’Rouke at LSU during the 195o’s.
Today I spend time with my four grandsons teaching them how to cook like a Cajun.
