Daniel's Story
Glendale....
Cerritos Elementary from kindergarten to 6th grade. Teachers like Mr. Pierce, Mrs. Jue, Mrs. Richardson, Mrs. Thomas and others. Then onto Roosevelt Jr. High where life changed as well as friends. Guys you grew up with in elementary started to find new friends as did I. Joined the gang in Toonerville "Thee Knightlads" that started out as a social group until jackets were ordered and soon was known as a gang. I was smart enough to get out fast, but I stayed loyal to my friends from Chevy Chase. I never did well in school, went as few days as possible and things didn't get any better as I moved onto GHS. I was a loner very different from my sister Tinkers who was very popular. I only went to school for gym class and to run laps with Bill Fugikawa, Albert Hanoca, Dean Boman and other cool dudes. Most of the time I would stay on the bus and continue onto Pasadena, catch the Arcadia bus and end up at Santa Anita for the day of races. I would many times see Mr. Bill Ruth VP from Roosevelt at the track, we would agree that we didn't see each other and have a chuckle! Hollywood, Del Mar and Pomona. After getting hurt too many times falling off horses, I joined the Navy and got a free trip to Nam. I was on a LST ship that dropped Marines and vehicles where needed traveling thru the rivers of the Meekong Delta '72-'73. After finishing my enlistment I married Arlinda and we had three kids, we all reside in Riverside, Calif. I fell into the advertising field by chance and made a thirty year career of it working for various ad agencies and meeting many great people along the way. I am now retired and dealing with cancer related to my exposure to Agent Orange that has become my latest battle. I have to prove that my ship was in the rivers of Nam and that I stepped on soil before they pay my family. Wish me luck as they don't exactly help you find ships logs, ÿhow convenient for them." I hope all of you are doing well and I'll keep on fighting my fight!

Well after a two year battle with the government, I won my case and now I'm 100% disabled and get a nice paycheck at the start of each month for my family. I have bone cancer and won't be around long, but I was able to take care of my family. Much love to you all, Danny
