Dan Allemeier, Stuart, FL
Appointed to West Point from Inglemoor, graduated in '71 with a BS in Aerospace Eng., awarded MSBA from Boston U. in '75, and a JD from the U. of the Pacific, admitted to the CA Bar in '78 and the FL Bar in '10. Also admitted to the U.S. Ct. of Federal Claims and the U.S. Supreme Ct. and am a Registered Patent Attorney.
Married Carol McNeish in June '71 and have a son and daughter. Carol delivered Dan Jr. in '74 in Germany and I "delivered" Gabrielle (adopted) from Korea in '80.
After Airborne and Ranger qualification in '71, started as an Air Defense Artillery lieutenant in Germany. After law school, as an Army JAG beginning in '78, prosecuted criminals at the 82d Airborne Div., Ft. Bragg, NC, and at the 2d Infantry Div. on the Korean DMZ. While at Ft. Bragg, NC, "jumped" into Panama for Jungle Warfare qualification. Thereafter, tried contract cases, worked with the Justice Dept. on appeals and fraud cases, and was the Army computer buying command's counsel, negotiating $100M+ deals.
In 1988, left active duty to work for Hughes Aircraft Co., but remained in the Army Reserves. Retired July, '01, as a Reserve Colonel, after being Commander, 78th Legal Support Org. and Staff Judge Advocate, 311th Corps Support Command. Awarded, the Legion of Merit, 5 Meritorious Service Medals, 3 Army Commendation Medals and the Humanitarian Service Medal.

t Hughes in '88 working domestic and international contracts, and environmental and employment law. In '90, began handling litigation and legistlation for Hughes Aircraft Co. and participated on briefs to the 9th Circuit, U.S. Ct. of Appeals and to the U.S. Supreme Ct. In U.S. ex rel Schumer v Hughes, the S. Ct. agreed with Hughes to not apply the False Claims Act (FCA) retroactively. In U.S. ex rel Haycock, the Dist. Ct. awarded Hughes the first FCA sanctions.
Starting at the Hughes Research Laboratories in '93, became General Counsel of HRL Laboratories in '98. HRL is a hi-tech research lab, established by Howard Hughes in 1948 and now owned by Boeing and GM.
Lectured on the False Claims Act in Phoenix and Tucson, in Huntsville, AL, and in La Jolla and LA, CA; commented on proposed pleadings rules at public hearings before the Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure of the Judicial Conf. of the US and on proposed environmental audit privilege legislation and on the CA Corporate Criminal Liability Act before the CA DAs Assn. Also lectured on the Bayh-Dole Act, which provides for patent ownership to Universities for government funded inventions, in Williamsburg, VA and LA CA. Taught Business Law, Business Statistics and Financial Analysis at Fayetteville St. U. and Campbell U. and Government Contracts at U. VA.
Retired from HRL in July 2014 and retired in Stuart, Florida.
