I have to say too, every "about me" post I've read on the majority of my friends pages barely scratch the surface of who they are. This one, will surely be the same. I'm a father of three, one son who is grown and on his own, a young adult daughter who is in transition of venturing out on her own (scary) and a teen age daughter who is closer to being an adult, than a child (scarier). I also have a younger brother who stands about four inches taller than me, and who; because of age, grew up more like a brother to my son, but has grown up to be one of the best men and father I know! Needless to say I love and take pride in all of all of those "kiddos;" my term of endearment as they are no longer children. I have a very special "certain someone" in my life, but I keep that part of my life private. I've been a law enforcement professional for the last 29 years, 23 of which with was the City of Austin, where I recently retired at the rank of Sergeant. I enjoyed a variety of assignments with the Austin Police Department, the most rewarding was supervising the Peer Support and Critical Incident Stress Management Teams, the most fun had to be my time as a detective in the Organized Crime Unit...but nothing could beat patrol. You truly see the best-of-the-best and the worst-of-the-worst! Patrol is the proverbial front row seat, to what is absolutely greatest show in earth. In all honesty, I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up...I'm 52 years old and I'm considering my professional options. I am quiet capable of running a law enforcement organization in all facets of the task, but I'm also interested in exploring the counseling profession. In any case, I enjoy having options.
